Emma first came to her Yoga Practice around 12 Years ago, initially embracing its wisdom very casually.  However following her first visit to India in 2001 Emma began to develop her LOVE of the Philosophy which naturally enhanced her personal practice. Her introduction to Classic Yoga through the Teachings of Swami Satyananda Saraswati of The Bihar School of Yoga began at that time.

Embracing the practice of Self Inquiry through the  teachings of Sri Ramana Maharshi, Emma attends regular Satsang with her teacher Satyananda who follows in this lineage of teachings. In recent years she has directed her personal practice more towards Pranayama and Meditation. Emma has been guiding mediation groups several years .

She also draws much wisdom from the teachings of Sri Anandamayi

Emmas Yoga Education recently took her to New Zealand where she underwent her formal Training through Ashram Yoga in Auckland under the guidance and wisdom of Swami Shantimurti Saraswati who studied and taught for thirty years in the Satyananda tradition. She also (and finally!) began teaching Yoga classes during that time for the general public and as Therapy for the Bi-Polar group ‘Balance’. She is continuing her education in Yoga for the Mind.

Emma’s Yoga Practice and Teachings follow an authentic path, encompassing Shatkarmas (Cleansing practices of Hatha yoga) Yoga Asana, Pranayama, Meditations from the Tantras and Yoga Nidra. She provides an opportunity for you to practice Raja (Royal) Yoga in a non-judgmental, explorative and mindful way.  Emma especially thrives in working in a more personalised way with individuals on a spiritaual path during private sessions.

Emma’s given sanskrit name is Divyananda

Emma delights in sharing her wisdom and passions with others through  Music, Dance and Ceremony as well as Yoga.
A committed Mother, Creative Thinker, Poet, Writer and Peace Keeper Emma continues her adventure with courage and honour.

Recognising the Divine in all beings inspires  Emma to be an incredible Woman. Embracing ALL that she is meant to be inspires other to do the same.
